Northeast Texas Land Market Insights and Pricing

Northeast Texas includes the Pine Belt region that accounts for nearly all of the commercial timber production in the state. Although filled with extensive hardwood timber, this is an area of valleys and creeks that's framed by two major waterways: the Sabine and the Red rivers. Abutting Oklahoma and Arkansas, the region takes on a distinctly Southern feel that's reflective of its neighboring states. Many of the rivers and creeks here feed into swampy bayous that stand tall with picturesque bald cypress and Spanish moss. Of the roughly $2 billion in rural land and property currently available for sale in the Northeast Texas region, Red River County features the most combined acres of land for sale. Red River County also registered the most sales activity based on sales recorded in this area through the Land Network Comparable Sales program last month. Pittsburg had the most ranches, farms, hunting land and other rural land and acreage for sale among cities located in the Northeast Texas region.
