These sections were at one time a Sheep outfits Spring range. It is still used by a leasee. The deeded lands start approx. 15 miles NE of Elko and run over near the Mountain City Highway , State Route 225, that leads to Bruneau and Mtn. Home Idaho as well as to Mountain City, Nevada , Tuscarora and other rural areas. The deeded lands are intermingled with BLM lands and some other private lands. A BLM permit has 944 active aum's which have historically been used for sheep. The permit shows 29% public lands. There are 253 of the active aum's that are in voluntary Non-use since 1988. There is a good chance that most of these aums could be converted to cattle due to the high percentage of private lands. The BLM maps show quite a bit of free water in this area and quite a bit appears to be on the deeded lands. Fifty (50%) percent of the minerals are included in the sale.
