McGary Ranch - Garvin Store - Edwards County
The McGary Ranch is a picturesque end-of-the road private sanctuary. Steeped with lush vegetation and expansive views this one-of-a-kind private hunting/recreational ranch offers the best of what the Hill Country has to offer. Loaded with native deer, Axis, turkey, exotics and other predator species the ranch offers exceptional hunting opportunities.
Location:
Located within the Jackson Ranch Development and a short 20-minute drive from the famous Garvin Store located at the intersection of SH-41 and US-83 offering good access to Junction and Kerrville.
Fencing:
Perimeter fencing is comprised of field-mesh/barbed wire and one side is newly high-fenced. Fences are in fair condition.
Water:
The ranch is watered by a well with submersible pump located near the cabin. A wet-weather creek traverses the property from North to South and serves as a focal point with its steep bluffs and timbered bottom where pools of water often accumulate. This area could make for a nice impoundment area for more sustainable surface water.
Improvements:
Largely unimproved and ready for your personal touches, the property does have an older hunters cabin/bunk-house which are given no contributory value. Other improvements include interior trails/roads best accessed by 4-wheeler, walking or a side-by-side.
The McGary Ranch has been hunted by friends and family over the years with very little pressure. The large neighbors contribute to good wildlife herds and a regiment of feeding on the ranch has produced some quality animals for decades. This is the perfect manageable sized ranch with seclusion and a backdrop for creating ones own retreat. Alternatively, just load up the kids, guns and friends/family and come out to enjoy the vast Texas skies that make up this far eastern Edwards County ranch.
