HELENE UPDATE: No damage to cabin, power is on! See it before anyone else after the storms! Enjoy privacy with no restrictions and a connection to nature at this classic 1920's Appalachian homestead with woodlands, clearings, and a spring. The recently remodeled hand-built cabin, where the original owners raised 13 children, is now a great move-in ready homestead, hunting camp, or vacation retreat. Many remaining relatives of the family live in the region and appreciate the retention of the home's historical features. With low ceilings, partial heating, and work completed without permits, this living area doesn't qualify as heated living area under NC guidelines, but is just over 1,000 sqft finished. Wooded ridges rise up to National Forest land, and the home is fed by a spring with pump and filtration. Minutes to Pigeon Roost Creek and the N Toe River, you can fish nearby or hunt on the property or on nearby state lands. Come sit for a spell on the front porch. Camper negotiable.
